If you suffer from sleep disorders, you know very well that falling asleep is a critical moment. Whether you suffer from circadian rhythm disturbances (advanced, delayed, irregular) or night wakings, falling asleep is a delicate phase that can be suddenly thrown out of balance by external factors such as noise outside or internal factors such as restless eating.
To suit all insomnia sufferers, Sleep Therapy NUXO combines 2 programmes that use light and 2 programmes that use sound.
Red light projection
Breathe in when the bar expands, breathe out when it recedes. By adjusting your breathing to the red light, which pulsates in a slow, regular rhythm every 5 seconds, the breathing slows down and the flow of thoughts is diminished.
This is the principle of heart coherence, a breathing exercise that gives a sense of calm. Its purpose is to regulate the heart rhythm and the autonomic nervous system. The hypnotic effect allows you to let go, occupying your brain with activities that are much less interesting than your thoughts.
By practising this exercise when you go to bed, you will feel a sense of calm and achieve a natural sleep.
White noise
Although the positive effects of white noise on sleep have not yet been scientifically proven, they are undeniable, especially for babies. Both falling asleep and the quality of sleep are significantly improved by this continuous neutral sound, which is produced randomly by combining all sound frequencies.
By saturating the auditory system, the brain gets the impression that external sounds are attenuated and therefore given less importance. You no longer concentrate on the unpleasant noises around you. So, after a few minutes, you find that you can let go and find your sleep.
In addition to helping you get a good night's sleep, you'll find that white noise helps you to improve your concentration, distance yourself from the outside world and even mask tinnitus (whistling in the ear).
Nature sounds
Like white noise, some natural sounds have naturally attractive and relaxing properties. Birdsong, the sound of a river running or the crackle of a fire have this effect in particular.
These calm sounds dispel your distractions and give you a feeling of cosiness, helping you to move naturally from wakefulness to sleep.
Sunset simulator
The sunset simulator gradually lowers the light to simulate the setting sun. It uses orange colours that gradually turn into a warm red colour to avoid blocking the secretion of melatonin and to help you fall gently asleep. In fact, red light waves prolong sleep and increase melatonin secretion, while reducing the production of the wake hormone cortisol.
Finally, Nuxo has a built-in bedside lamp with multiple brightness settings so you can read in bed with the desired amount of light.
